Federal Government Training Incentives

The Federal Government offers several training incentives to assist employers cover the cost of training staff. This funding is provided to ensure that Australia has an ongoing supply of qualified people, and to ensure that Australian businesses continue to offer a world-class standard of business practice.

Although there are a wide range of incentives available, and many courses eligible for government incentives, following are some incentive and training opportunities available for TP human capital courses.

Who is eligible?

Funding is available to employers to assist employees who do not currently hold formal qualifications. 

Incentives for Training Your Supervisors and Managers

Many organisations are aware of incentives for young apprentices and trainees. Many are not aware that their supervisors and managers may also be eligible to receive these incentives.  TP human capital's Certificate IV in Business (Frontline Management) has become a popular choice for supervisors and managers.

Incentives for Administration Trainees

The business administration traineeship is the most popular traineeship in Australia and is an industry standard in administrative positions.

Example of Funding

David is a supervisor in a factory. He holds a position as a supervisor, though he holds no formal qualifications. David's employer would like to assist him in developing his supervision and management skills.

Course recommendation: Certificate IV in Business (Frontline Management)

Incentives

  • The employer is eligible for a $1,500 incentive after commencement of the Certificate IV
  • The employer is eligible for an additional $2,500 on completion of the Certificate IV

The incentives are designed to assist with the cost of the course and also give compensation for time spent in the workplace completing workplace projects and training.

Myths About Trainees

  • Trainees are only young people, new to the workforce – False.  Trainees can be any age.
  • You have to be on a low trainee wage – False.  Trainees can be on any pay scale. A manager can become a trainee and maintain current salary. Trainee wages are available for organisations to use as a guide or minimum standard.
  • Trainees have to attend training during work hours – False.  Many businesses cannot afford to have employees train during work hours. If there is an agreement reached between the individual and the organisation, the individual can attend training outside of business hours.
