Mediation services
Mediation is a flexible dispute-resolution process that aims to resolve workplace disputes/grievances/complaints in a fair and equitable way, i.e. the disputing parties reach a solution themselves rather than an arbitrary decision being made.
The focus of a mediation approach is to have all parties approach the issue from a business point of view rather than a legal one. (Intervention of a third party to help resolve an issue or issues that may be inhibiting progress or cohesion within the organisation.)
Benefits
- save time and money that otherwise might be spent on more adversarial or litigious methods
- support existing grievance- or conflict-resolution processes
- relatively neutral third party that offers management the option to mediate a solution agreeable to both parties rather than leaving dispute outcomes solely in the hands of the disputants, their advocates or lawyers
Mediator’s role
- helping disputing parties voluntarily settle conflicts or disputes
- establishing ground rules for negotiations
- opening channels of communication
- ensuring that the needs of each party are clarified
- identifying key issues
- providing a sense of security and safety for the disputants
Our professional mediators can assist parties to communicate and negotiate by listening to all parties’ perspectives on the conflict, generating and considering the merits of various options, and then helping to design an agreement with the parties. A neutral third party can help to open communication channels between parties by structuring (and to an extent directing) their interactions.
TP human capital can provide highly-skilled and -experienced personnel to act as an independent mediator in resolving any workplace grievances/issues.
