Community Partner
The unique partnership, a first of its kind for both companies, combines the strong community values and long-standing reputation for excellence of TP human capital and Townsville Basketball with a view to establishing a long-term, mutually-beneficial relationship.
In addition to supporting the team as a whole, TP human capital has also agreed to individual sponsorships for two of the team’s talented new recruits, Tanya Smith and Aroon Edgar. Originally from Sydney, Tanya has spent the past 4 years in the US College system with the University of Hawaii before being recruited by the Fire. Aroon is returning from 2 years in the QABL as part of National winning team, the Flames.

The partnership is part of an ongoing initiative by TP human capital to promote local businesses and help drive the region’s economic growth. The innovative arrangement is largely a result of collaboration with Townsville Basketball General Manager, Tony Wade. “As a community based organisation we have a lot in common with TP Human Capital and as partners going forward we hope to establish a long term relationship from not only a sporting but community based business perspective” he said. “We hope to not only increase awareness and support for local sporting teams and events through Townsville Basketball but continue to promote healthy lifestyle, participation and excellence within the community and region.”
