About Us
Cultural Diversity
Based in Townsville, TP human capital is central to North Queensland’s Indigenous communities extending from the Bowen region, Charters Towers, Palm Island Group and the tableland regions south of Cairns. We recognise the importance of building the capacity of Indigenous and other Australians, particularly in our rural and remote areas, to help drive the economic growth in these regions.
Through our Indigenous facilitators we have gained a greater understanding of our country’s cultural history and continue to develop further employment and training opportunities for Indigenous Australians.
We design and deliver learning and development services to indigenous communities in rural regions like Mt Isa, and utilise our Indigenous facilitators to deliver training and mentoring services to Indigenous Australians through interactive learning sessions.
Our accredited training programmes offer participants the opportunity to use Recognition of Prior Learning and/or their previous experience to gain a formal qualification in their chosen field. We recognise that diverse learning and cultural circumstances prevalent in Indigenous communities can affect some competency assessment elements and so we tailor the training programme to suit the learning needs of each individual participant.
Our non-accredited training is delivered in an easy paced environment and participants have access to an experienced Indigenous mentor to assist them throughout their learning experience.
Our learning and development strategies for Indigenous Australians also include our human resources and recruitment services.
We utilise targeted search and selection recruitment methods to assist our clients with meeting Indigenous employment and development commitments and encourage our clients to increase their Indigenous staff representation across all position levels.
Previously we have targeted Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander peoples for government positions including the General Manager for Townsville Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Centre Unit Trust (TATSICCUT)
