Assistant Director - Management Accounting

About the Team

This role works within the organisation's Corporate Services branch which works collaboratively with other branches to coordinate and deliver professional centralised services on behalf of the Authority and to Authority staff.

Specifically, this role is part of the Finance section responsible for providing financial frameworks, systems, and support.

It is a core requirement of this role and team, to effectively manage key stakeholder relationships to ensure the timely delivery of key projects and promote active business partnering across the Authority.

About the Position

You will be responsible for providing high-level support, advice, and technical expertise in management accounting to the Chief Finance Officer, and partnering with the Authority’s executive and management teams in regard to budget and operational plan development and performance.

You will also be required to effectively manage key stakeholder relationships to ensure the timely delivery of key projects and promote active business partnering across the Authority.

The Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this role you will have substantial experience in management accounting with demonstrated leadership capability, and a focus on stakeholder relationship management and collaborative business partnering.

You will also need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in business/commerce/accounting.
  • Professional membership with CPA or CA.
  • Minimum 10 years post-graduate experience in an accounting environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance.
