TP Human Capital are recruiting for the position of QUALITY ASSURANCE OFFICER for our client, Australia’s leading provider of high performance animal nutrition solutions. As a QUALITY ASSURANCE OFFICER the main purpose of the role is to assist the Site Manager in the operational duties associated with monitoring and maintaining the quality of all raw materials that come into site and then inspect and assess all finished products including Lick Blocks and dry feed supplement mixes. The role will also include assisting with the promotion of the Quality Culture at the site by assisting the Production Manager and employees in the development and understanding of quality and its importance to the company and its customers. In essence encouraging a Total Quality Management (TQM) environment where all understand the importance of quality in all that they do.

As a QUALITY ASSURANCE OFFICER your duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Preparing reports, analysing data, promoting problem solving and making recommendations for improving plant operations.
  • Implement programs and procedures required to ensure plant cleanliness and conduct inspections to ensure correct standard is maintained.
  • Lead and / or participate in all site audits including HACCP, Feed safe and quarterly audit. Close out actions if required through the Site Manager.
  • Reception and inspection on incoming raw materials and performance of physical tests and lab analysis of these materials.
  • Conducting tests of finished products.
  • Review all raw material and completed batch records as part of the approved ‘ Release for supply’ procedures.
  • Assist with monitoring and investigating non – conformance’s and customer complaints when required.
  • Lab housekeeping and inventory maintained at acceptable levels.

The role will not involve a lot of lab work, more prepping samples to be distributed to external labs for review and result’s. This role is pivotal to the business in ensuring outgoing products remain at the highest of standard and leave the business as such. As such we are looking for people with:

  • A good understanding of food safety and quality assurance practices.
  • Sound OH & S and Environmental Policies and legislation.
  • Understanding of GMP, HACCP and feed safe requirements (desirable)
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to relate to all levels of management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
